About SARCP

SARCP is a member care association representing adult social care services in Stoke and Staffordshire.

Vision: To support and represent the business interests of Staffordshire providers, with a collective representative voice, enabling proactive relationships with local partner organisations to promote viable high-quality services.

SARCP has an Executive Board of independent care provider proprietors/senior managers and professional consultants.

Staffordshire Care Association (SARCP) operates a membership structure and is open to all providers of adult social care and support in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent who wish to join including care homes, home care, supported living and day opportunity providers.

Governed by an Executive Board of experienced directors, the association aims to support and represent the business interests of Staffordshire providers, with a collective representative voice, enabling proactive relationships with local partner organisations to promote viable high-quality services.

SARCP works with training providers to facilitate quality training opportunities that meet provider needs. Networking events and seminars are also planned to enable sharing of  knowledge and learning and understanding of the social care economy.

Business Development Manager

Julie Harding has been appointed to manage SARCP business development activities Julie brings with her a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience accumulated over her 35 years plus career as a registered nurse (RNMH) in health and social care services in both the statutory, private and charity sector. Over the course of her career. Julie has held the positions of Registered Manager, Community Services Manager, Director of Business Development and Governance Lead with responsibility for leading and developing CQC registered services.

Sally Allen has over 20 years’ experience working for SARCP supporting the administrative functions including advice and support for providers queries, the facilitation of staff training events and Board member communications. Sally has developed trusted relationships with SARCP members during this time.

Juliet Briggs

Chairperson

Mrs. Juliet Briggs has been a Registered Manager and owner of nursing homes since 2001. She is an RGN who holds a Bsc (Hons) Health Studies, Diploma in Management studies and the Registered Managers Award. She became a Registered Nurse in 1987 and graduated to management before becoming a Registered Manager. Juliet owns two nursing homes in South Staffordshire.

Following an executive career in Social Housing and in the Private Sector as a Management Consultant, Louise used her skills to create change in the support provided to people with Learning Disabilities,. In 2009 she led the development of a new blueprint for Day Opportunities, creating Sherratts Wood CIC and more lately Sherratts Wood Cares Ltd to provide high quality supported living accommodation. A passionate advocate for the sector, Louise has been at the forefront of pushing for quality standards and fair pay for Day Opportunities in Staffordshire.

Oliver Bull

Honorary President

Oliver and his wife Mary, owned a care home for the elderly more years ago than should be remembered. He was involved with the original formation of SARCP and was Chairman before selling. He has remained with SARCP as Honorary President advising  on legal matters. He assists SARCP in its continuing general representation and assistance to care homes as the sector changes and develops.

As Managing Director of Safe Harbor, a family-owned group of three elderly care homes in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, I draw on over 15 years of industry experience and a business management degree.

Having managed the business for five years and taken the director role last year, I prioritise resident safety and service enhancement, guided by our values: Safe, Together, Compassion, and Improving.

I advocate for staff training and internal promotion, fostering a dedicated, compassionate team.

My goal is to ensure Safe Harbor remains a trusted, caring provider, delivering peace of mind for families and outstanding care for residents.

Edward Twigge

Edward owns three nursing homes in Stoke and Staffordshire and has extensive knowledge of the Elderly Adult Social Care market. 

Edward works closely with Stoke and Staffordshire Local Authorities to promote provider engagement and insight.

Loraine Atherton

Loraine Atherton

Board Member

Lorraine has worked in the care industry for over 25yrs with 20yrs of management experience in Learning Disability care homes. The young adult services have won local and national awards.
She is passionate about putting dignity first and ensuring that people she supports are at the forefront of service provision.
Sarah Adams

Sarah Adams

Board Member

Sarah manages a domiciliary care service, The Care Company ,over 2 sites , caring for our older community in Stafford and Stoke On Trent.

She has been a manager of care services for almost 16 years, having a passion for providing quality services and proud to say she has the best team around her.

Julie Hope

Board Member

Julie has worked in both public, private and voluntary sector in social care for over 37 years and extensive experience of management and leadership roles in all aspects of care from children to adults.

Since 2007 Julie has been Director of Jump 2 Independence Ltd who provides, supported living, home care and outreach services throughout Staffordshire, Julie has been a Registered Manager for over 12 years and is vice chair of the Key Educational Trust, trust board based in Stone, on a voluntary basis.

Julie is passionate about ensuring quality care delivery, whilst ensuring a person-centred approach from staff that are highly trained, caring and motivated in their care roles.

Julie is looking forward to supporting the board by sharing her breadth of knowledge and experience in both the Social Care and Education sector to the board in their quest to improve care standards.

Victoria Hill-Yates

Board Member

Victoria Hill-Yates has worked in the care sector for over 27 years, in a variety of settings and responsibilities. She has been the Registered Manager of Independent Support Ltd in Tunstall, supporting individuals with learning disabilities for over 7 years. Victoria has a passion for the care industry and is  bringing her experience and expertise in supporting the board in the quest to improve standards of the care sector.

We engage with local authorities, the integrated Care Board (ICB) and MPS on behalf of the sector. We are a member of the Care Association Alliance which represent all regional care associations in England

Our Commitments to Members 

  • Contact all new members within 14 days of joining SARCP for a personal one to one welcome conversation about their service needs and how we can best support them.
  • Contact at least 4 times a year for a 1:1 review of membership.
  • Respond to all enquiries within 5 working days.
  • Send regular bulletins on updates to local, regional, and national information.
  • Listen to member feedback and amend our services to meet needs.

Membership Fees

Care Homes

      • £250 per year for up to 10 beds
      • £300 per year for 10-30
      • £350 per year for 31-50 beds
      • £400 per  year for over 50 beds
      • £110 per year for each additional home

Home Care

      • £250 per year
      • £110 per year for each additional agency

Day Opportunities

      • £175 per year
